If you are choosing [a countertop garden](https://microgreensguru.com/blog/what-is-an-aerogarden/) for your own kitchen, the two closest matchups are the AeroGarden Harvest against the LetPot LPH-Air, and the [AeroGarden Bounty](https://microgreensguru.com/blog/aerogarden-bounty-review/) against the LetPot LPH-Max. The Harvest is the smaller machine, with 6 pods and a 20 W light for $76.97 on sale, while the Air gives you 10 pods, a 24 W light and a 4 L tank from $69.99. At the larger end, the Bounty's 9 pods and 24 inches of grow height cost $114.98 on sale, and the Max has 21 pods, a 30 inch light height, a 7.5 L tank and automatic refill for $251.99. Both makers offer a one-year warranty, and the light on any of the four runs about $1.65 to $3.74 a month at rated watts.

## The closest pairs, side by side

Each AeroGarden below sits next to the LetPot nearest to it in size and price. Every figure is the maker's own, taken from the [Harvest](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/brands/aerogarden/products/gardens/harvest/901100-1200.html), [Bounty](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/brands/aerogarden/products/gardens/aerogarden-bounty/903130-1100.html), [LPH-Air](https://letpot.com/products/lph-air-indoor-hydroponic-gardening-system) and [LPH-Max](https://letpot.com/products/lph-max-21-pod-hydroponics-system-with-app-control) listings and from the manuals on the [AeroGarden manuals page](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/support/help-center/aerogardenproductmanuals.html) and the [LetPot manuals page](https://letpot.com/pages/user-manual).

The closest pairs, maker specs

| Model | Pods | Rated light | Grow height | Tank | Pump cycle | Default light hours | Unit footprint |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| AeroGarden Harvest | 6 | 20 W LED | Up to 12 in | Not published | 5 minutes on, 25 off | 15 hours a day | 10.5 x 6 in |
| LetPot LPH-Air | 10 | 24 W | 14 in | 4 L | 30 minutes on, 30 off | Generally 12 to 16 hours, depending on the plant | Published as both 17 x 8 x 4 in and 15 x 5 x 5 in |
| AeroGarden Bounty | 9 | 40 W LED | Up to 24 in, plus a 6 in trellis | 4.1 L (older generation's guide) | 1 hour every 11 hours while seeds sprout | 17 hours in AeroGarden's energy example | 17.25 x 11.25 in |
| LetPot LPH-Max | 21, plus an optional 2-pod large-plant tray | 36 W | 30 in | 7.5 L, with automatic water refill and nutrient dosing | 30 minutes on, 30 off | 16 hours, 7:00 to 23:00 | 17 x 11.5 in |

The Bounty's 4.1 L tank comes from the 2016 Bounty Wi-Fi quick setup guide, which covers an older generation with a 45 W hood; the current 40 W guide gives no volume. That current guide runs the pump 1 hour every 11 hours while seeds germinate, then moves to a plant-based cycle after two weeks that you can adjust in the menu.

LetPot publishes the Air's size in two versions that do not agree: 17 x 8 x 4 in in its [garden collection table](https://letpot.com/collections/indoor-garden) and 15 x 5 x 5 in on the [Air page](https://letpot.com/products/lph-air-indoor-hydroponic-gardening-system). If your shelf is tight, allow for the larger one.

Three numbers are missing from both makers: the inside dimensions of the growing deck, a PPFD figure (the amount of plant-usable light landing on the plants), and a measured wall-power reading. If any of them matters to you, measure it yourself: a tape across the deck once it is out of the box, and a plug-in energy meter left in line for a month on the factory schedule. Pod count tells you how many planting holes a deck has, not how much growing room they share.

## Prices on September 13, 2026

These are the prices shown on each maker's own store on September 13, 2026. aerogarden.com redirects to the AeroGarden store at scottsmiraclegro.com, so the AeroGarden figures come from that one [AeroGarden garden collection](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/products/aerogarden-hydroponic-gardens/).

Maker store prices, September 13, 2026

| AeroGarden | Price | LetPot | Price |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Harvest (6 pods) | $76.97 sale, was $109.95 | LPH-Air (10 pods) | From $69.99 sale |
| Bounty (9 pods) | $114.98 sale, was $229.95 | LPH-Max (21 pods) | $251.99 sale |
| [Harvest Lite](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/brands/aerogarden/products/gardens/aerogarden-harvest-2.0/901202-1210.html?dwvar_Harvest-2.0_color=0048) (15 W) | $99.95 | LPH-SE (12 pods) | From $119.99 |
| [Sprout](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/brands/aerogarden/products/browse-all-aerogarden-products/aerogarden-sprout.html) (3 pods, 10 W) | $49.95 | LPH-Lite (12 pods) | $89.99 |

The LetPot prices come from its [indoor garden collection](https://letpot.com/collections/indoor-garden). The Air is listed from $69.99, but the green US version on the [Air page](https://letpot.com/products/lph-air-indoor-hydroponic-gardening-system) showed $79.99, the price used in the year-one figures below. LetPot marks every garden as on sale without showing a regular price. No Amazon price was established for these models on that date, so if you buy there, compare the listing against these store prices on the day you order. For the wider AeroGarden lineup, see [how much an AeroGarden costs](https://microgreensguru.com/blog/how-much-does-an-aerogarden-cost/).

## What the light costs to run each month

Since neither maker measures wall power, the closest estimate you can make before buying is rated watts, multiplied by the default light hours, multiplied by your electricity rate. The rate used here is the June 2026 US residential average of 18.34 cents per kWh from the [EIA's Electric Power Monthly, Table 5.6.A](https://www.eia.gov/electricity/monthly/epm_table_grapher.php?t=epmt_5_6_a), over a 30-day month.

![Plain white plug-in electricity usage meter in a kitchen wall outlet with a countertop garden power cord plugged into it and herbs at the edge of the frame](https://microgreensguru.com/images/blog/aerogarden-vs-letpot/plug-in-energy-meter-on-countertop-garden-cord.jpg)

Here is the Harvest worked through. A 20 W light is 0.020 kW. At 15 hours a day for 30 days, it runs 450 hours, which is 0.020 x 450 = 9 kWh. At $0.1834 per kWh, 9 x 0.1834 comes to $1.65 a month.

Light electricity at 18.34 cents per kWh, 30 days

| Model | Rated watts | Hours a day | kWh per 30 days | Light cost per month |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Harvest | 20 W | 15 | 9.0 | $1.65 |
| Bounty | 40 W | 17 | 20.4 | $3.74 |
| Bounty at 48 W | 48 W | 17 | 24.5 | $4.49 |
| LPH-Air | 24 W | 16 (top of its range) | 11.5 | $2.11 |
| LPH-Max | 36 W | 16 | 17.3 | $3.17 |

The Bounty rows follow the energy example in the [AeroGarden FAQ](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/support/help-center/aerogardenfaqs.html), which runs a Bounty 17 hours a day at 48 W. The Max's 16 hours is its factory setting in the [LetPot manual](https://letpot.com/pages/user-manual), and the Air uses the top of its 12 to 16 hour range. The hours are a setting you choose, and that FAQ example is the only Bounty schedule AeroGarden publishes; at 16 hours, a 40 W Bounty's light comes to 19.2 kWh and $3.52 a month.

These are light-only estimates, not a measured bill. They leave out the pump, the display, losses in the power adapter, any dimming, and the Max's refill and dosing hardware. To make the figure yours, replace 0.1834 with the per-kWh rate on your own electric bill. The same arithmetic for trays and shelf lights is in [electricity and water costs for microgreens](https://microgreensguru.com/selling-microgreens/guides/electricity-and-water-costs/).

## Year one: the unit, one refill kit and a year of light

Each garden ships with supplies for its first planting, so a simple year-one figure adds the unit price, one refill kit and twelve months of rated light.

![Pantry shelf with a small stack of plain boxes, a clear bag of round brown grow sponges, a few plain nutrient bottles and a nested stack of empty plastic grow baskets](https://microgreensguru.com/images/blog/aerogarden-vs-letpot/countertop-garden-refill-supplies-on-pantry-shelf.jpg)

- **AeroGarden Harvest:** $76.97 unit + $16.95 for the [6-pod Grow Anything kit](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-SMG-Site/en_US/Product-Variation?dwvar_aerogarden-grow-anything-seed-pod-kit_size=6pod&pid=aerogarden-grow-anything-seed-pod-kit&quantity=1) + $19.80 of light ($1.65 x 12) = **$113.72**
- **LetPot LPH-Air:** $79.99 page price + $26.89 for the [60-sponge refill kit](https://letpot.com/products/smart-indoor-garden-seed-pod-kits) + $25.32 of light ($2.11 x 12) = **$132.20**
- **LetPot LPH-Max:** $251.99 unit + $26.89 for the same 60-sponge kit + $38.04 of light ($3.17 x 12) = **$316.92**
- **AeroGarden Bounty:** $114.98 unit + $21.95 for the [9-pod Grow Anything kit](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/brands/aerogarden/products/seed-kits/aerogarden-grow-anything-seed-pod-kit.html?bvstate=pg:6/ct:r) + $44.88 of light ($3.74 x 12) = **$181.81**

These totals leave out seed and any plant food beyond what comes in the box and the kit, and they are not a year of harvests. Neither maker publishes how many crops a garden turns over in a year or how much solution it uses, so the figures show what it costs to own and light the unit, not what it produces.

Plant food is the cost that grows with use. AeroGarden's [Liquid Plant Food](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/brands/aerogarden/products/accessories/100824-0000.html) was $11.99 a bottle, a 3 fl oz bottle marked as one season. On a 6-pod garden, AeroGarden doses 8 mL at planting and every two weeks after, which works out to $1.08 a feeding. LetPot's [nutrient pack](https://letpot.com/products/smart-hydroponic-systems-natural-liquid) was $16.99 for four 100 mL bottles, dosed at 5 mL of A and 5 mL of B per liter, so it treats 40 L at $0.425 a liter and a full 4 L Air tank takes $1.70 of food. For your own monthly figure, write down the liters you add each time you top up and multiply the month's total by $0.425. Per planting position, the [9-pod Grow Anything kit](https://microgreensguru.com/blog/use-your-own-seeds-in-an-aerogarden/) comes to $2.44 and the LetPot 60-sponge kit to $0.45.

## Warranty terms side by side

Both makers cover the garden for a year, but they word the remedy and the exclusions differently.

![Small submersible water pump, coiled black power adapter and flat rectangular LED light panel laid out on a kitchen counter beside an empty countertop garden reservoir](https://microgreensguru.com/images/blog/aerogarden-vs-letpot/countertop-garden-pump-adapter-and-light-panel-on-counter.jpg)

Warranty terms side by side

| Warranty point | AeroGarden (AeroGrow) | LetPot |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Term | One year on hardware bought from authorized sellers, for the original purchaser | One year from the original purchase date, for the original purchaser or user; a gift recipient needs the buyer's receipt |
| Remedy | Repair, replacement or refund, at AeroGrow's option | LetPot will help resolve the problem or send a replacement, and responds within 48 hours of receiving your order details |
| Main exclusions | Seed kits and accessories, units from unauthorized sellers, unauthorized modifications or parts such as non-AeroGrow seed pods, improper care or voltage, network interruption, abuse and acts of God | Human damage, normal wear and tear, not following the instructions, removed serial numbers, negligence, accidents, improper use or storage, lost removable parts, and modifications or repairs by others, including with unauthorized parts or accessories |
| Seeds and returns | A separate 90-day germination warranty on AeroGarden seed kits: the pod is replaced or refunded, and seed not provided by AeroGrow is excluded | A 30-day return policy for unused items in original packaging bought on the official site |
| Terms dated | Effective September 30, 2025 | Page last updated May 29, 2026 |

The AeroGarden terms are in the [AeroGrow limited warranty](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/support/help-center/limitedwarranty.html) and the [germination warranty](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/support/help-center/guaranteetogerminate.html). LetPot's are on its [Warranty Policy page](https://letpot.com/pages/warranty-policy), and its [customer FAQ](https://letpot.com/en-ca/pages/customer-faqs) states the 30-day return and one-year warranty for all LetPot products. A refund is not named as a LetPot warranty remedy; refunds sit under the 30-day return policy. If you want to know whether the AeroGarden brand will be around to handle a claim, see [is AeroGarden still in business](https://microgreensguru.com/blog/is-aerogarden-still-in-business/).

Replacement parts are easier to price on the LetPot side. Its [parts collection](https://letpot.com/collections/hydroponics-growing-systems) sold a pump for $9.99, an adapter from $9.99 and a light panel from $22.99 on September 13, 2026, though the Max pump variant was marked unavailable that day. The [AeroGarden accessories page](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/brands/aerogarden/products/accessories/) listed plant food, trellises, seed-starting systems, spacers and storage, with no pump, light hood or power adapter.

## What owners report about reliability and support

Neither AeroGarden nor LetPot publishes a failure rate for lights, pumps, power supplies or apps. What you have is maker troubleshooting and a few dated owner accounts, and each account is one person on one date.

LetPot's [customer FAQ](https://letpot.com/en-ca/pages/customer-faqs) says a pump that stops working is often blocked by impurities or roots, and tells you to clean the filter and sponge. For a light that will not come on, it says to check the schedule and the pole connection. The [AeroGarden FAQ](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/support/help-center/aerogardenfaqs.html) puts LED diode life at 2 to 4 years.

On the LetPot side, two owners writing in November 2025 said their gardens had run without problems for two years, one of them owning 11 LetPots, while an owner writing on March 2, 2026 described slow delivery support and an offered 50% refund ([owner thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hydroponics/comments/1ioazi9/who_has_a_letpot_hydroponics_i_love_mine_so_much/)). A buyer writing on December 10, 2025 said LetPot sent replacement parts promptly ([LetPot nutrient page](https://letpot.com/products/smart-hydroponic-systems-natural-liquid)). On the AeroGarden side, one owner writing on August 2, 2026 said their years-old seed would not germinate and described AeroGarden support as non-existent ([owner discussion](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hydroponics/comments/1vcxkcy/aerogarden_vs_something_else/)).

None of these accounts comes with a count of units sold, so none tells you how often a part fails. Whichever you buy, note the date any part misbehaves and keep your receipt, so a claim inside the first year is easy to make.

## Which model fits your kitchen and crop plan

The right pick comes down to three things: how much counter you can give up, what you want to grow, and how much you want the machine to do for you.

### Herbs and lettuce on a small counter

The [Harvest](https://microgreensguru.com/go/aerogarden-harvest/) is the compact choice at 10.5 x 6 inches, with 6 pods and up to 12 inches of grow height, and it ships with seed pods so you can plant on day one. The Air gives you 10 pods, 14 inches of height and a 4 L tank for a similar price, and its app lets you set exact light times. If 10 pods feels tight, LetPot's 12-pod LPH-Lite is $89.99 and the [LPH-SE](https://microgreensguru.com/go/letpot-senior/) starts at $119.99. For a wider look at compact units, see the [countertop growing units](https://microgreensguru.com/product-reviews/countertop-units/) comparison.

### Tomatoes, peppers and taller plants

AeroGarden names cherry tomatoes and peppers for the [Bounty](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/brands/aerogarden/products/gardens/aerogarden-bounty/903130-1100.html), which has 24 inches of grow height and comes with a 6 inch trellis. The [Max](https://letpot.com/products/lph-max-21-pod-hydroponics-system-with-app-control) reaches 30 inches with a light panel that rotates 180 degrees, and LetPot sells its 2-pod large-plant tray and trellis separately. The Max's automatic refill and dosing suit you if you would rather not top up by hand, and both machines take roughly 17 by 11 inches of counter.

![Tall countertop hydroponic garden with a flat light panel raised high on its pole over a bushy pepper plant with small green peppers beside a leafy lettuce](https://microgreensguru.com/images/blog/aerogarden-vs-letpot/tall-countertop-garden-light-panel-over-pepper-plant.jpg)

### A tray of microgreens

A standard 10 by 20 inch tray has 200 square inches of sowing surface. The Bounty's whole unit footprint is 17.25 x 11.25 inches, or 194.1 square inches, and the Max's is 17 x 11.5 inches, or 195.5 square inches. Those are counter space, not growing area: each garden's base covers slightly less of your counter than one flat tray does, and the pod deck sits inside that outline at a size neither maker publishes. If you want microgreens from either machine, measure the deck yourself before you plan a sowing.

Pods separate plants, and microgreens are grown dense. AeroGarden once sold a MicroGreens Kit for the Bounty, and its guide is still on the [AeroGarden manuals page](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/support/help-center/aerogardenproductmanuals.html): about 4 teaspoons of seed per tray side, with cutting from day 5 to 7. The store no longer lists that kit. LetPot names micro basil, micro cilantro and micro radish among the crops in its [growing system collection](https://letpot.com/collections/hydroponics-device), but publishes no dense-sowing method, and its FAQ tells you to sow 2 to 3 seeds per sponge. If a full tray of microgreens is your goal, read [can you grow microgreens in an AeroGarden](https://microgreensguru.com/blog/can-you-grow-microgreens-in-an-aerogarden/) first, then compare [hydroponic microgreens systems](https://microgreensguru.com/blog/hydroponic-microgreens-systems/) and [grow lights](https://microgreensguru.com/product-reviews/grow-lights/) sized for a tray.

## Questions shoppers ask

### Do I need Wi-Fi to run either garden?

No. Neither maker says an app is required to run the pump and light; the Bounty has a touchscreen, the Air a touchpad and the Max a screen. The catch is on LetPot: its [FAQ](https://letpot.com/en-ca/pages/customer-faqs) says your custom settings survive a power outage only if the garden is connected through Wi-Fi and the app, otherwise they revert to defaults.

### Can I put LetPot sponges and baskets in an AeroGarden?

LetPot says its [replacement sponges and baskets](https://letpot.com/products/smart-indoor-garden-seed-pod-kits) are compatible with AeroGarden, iDOO and Click & Grow. Physical fit is not warranty coverage, though: the [AeroGrow warranty](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/support/help-center/limitedwarranty.html) excludes damage involving non-AeroGrow seed pods. LetPot does not say whether it treats third-party pods or nutrients as unauthorized.

### How often will I need to add water?

AeroGarden says to add water and food to the Bounty typically every week or two ([Bounty page](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/brands/aerogarden/products/gardens/aerogarden-bounty/903130-1100.html)). LetPot says water use depends on the model, the crop, its growth stage and your room, and tells you to check the tank or the app ([LetPot collection](https://letpot.com/collections/indoor-garden)). Log the date and amount each time you top up for the first month and you will have your own interval.

### Does the garden come with seeds?

The Harvest and Bounty include seed pods and 3 fl oz of plant food, while the Harvest Lite includes neither, so budget for a [6-pod kit](https://microgreensguru.com/go/aerogarden-seed-pod-kit/) and [plant food](https://microgreensguru.com/go/aerogarden-plant-food/) with it ([Harvest Lite page](https://scottsmiraclegro.com/en-us/brands/aerogarden/products/gardens/aerogarden-harvest-2.0/901202-1210.html?dwvar_Harvest-2.0_color=0048)). The [LetPot Air listing](https://letpot.com/products/lph-air-indoor-hydroponic-gardening-system) shows baskets, sponges, A and B nutrients, domes, labels and support rods, and does not state that seeds are included, so buy your seed before the unit arrives.

## Making the call

Start with the counter: measure the space against the footprints above, allowing for the larger of the Air's two published sizes. Then match grow height to your crop, the Harvest or Air for herbs and lettuce, the [Bounty](https://microgreensguru.com/go/aerogarden-bounty/) or Max for tomatoes and peppers. Take the year-one figure for that model, swap in your own electricity rate, and add the plant food you log in the first month. Keep your receipt with the warranty date, and if a full tray of microgreens is the plan, price a tray and a light alongside either pod garden before you buy.
