Affiliate Disclaimer
Last updated 7 August 2026.
The disclosure
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, this site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. You pay the same price you would pay going direct.
This disclosure is made in line with the US Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and testimonials, which requires that a material connection between a publisher and a seller be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. Pages carrying affiliate links say so on the page itself, not only here.
Who the programs are
Amazon Associates is the affiliate program this site currently uses. As an Amazon Associate, this site earns from qualifying purchases.
Applications are open with a small number of specialist suppliers whose equipment and seed the reviews already cover. None of those is live yet, and this page will name each one here if and when it is approved, rather than listing companies as partners before any relationship exists.
This list is kept current deliberately, because a disclosure that names the wrong companies is not a disclosure, and one that names companies you are not actually working with is worse than one that names none.
How the links are built, and why that matters to you
Every affiliate link on this site points at an address on this domain, in the form /go/<name>/, which then forwards you to the retailer. That is a deliberate design choice with two effects worth knowing about.
It means merchant tracking parameters are never buried inside the body of an article, so what you are clicking is legible rather than disguised as an ordinary link.
It also means a dead or terminated program is fixed in one place. That is not hypothetical: an affiliate network account was terminated in August 2026, which killed one program outright. Because links resolve through a single registry, nothing on the site had to be rewritten and no reader was left following a broken commercial link.
What the commission does not buy
Nothing on this site is recommended because it pays. In particular:
- No manufacturer, retailer or brand has any say over what is written, what is recommended, or what is criticised.
- Nothing is recommended because a company sent it for free. Where equipment was supplied by a manufacturer, the page says so.
- A product's commission rate plays no part in whether it is recommended, or where it ranks in a comparison. Products that pay nothing are recommended here when they are the right answer.
- Negative findings are published. A review that cannot say a product is bad is an advertisement.
The test applied is whether the equipment would be bought again with the site's own money.
What a commission cannot make true
Regulatory guidance on this site is not monetized and never will be. The state and federal guides exist to tell you what the law requires, and no commercial relationship influences them. No agency is named, or not named, for commercial reasons.
Prices and availability
Prices, specifications and availability change constantly and are set by the retailer, not by this site. Whatever the retailer shows at the moment you buy is the real price. Check the retailer's own page before ordering.
