Terms and Conditions
Last updated 7 August 2026.
These are the terms for using Microgreens Guru. Using the site means accepting them.
This site is not legal advice, and this is the part that matters
Microgreens Guru publishes information about food and agriculture regulation in all fifty states, plus federal rules. That information is general information, not legal advice, and reading it does not create a lawyer-client relationship, a consultant relationship, or any professional relationship at all.
That distinction is not a formality here. It carries real weight, for reasons this site is unusually well placed to explain:
Regulation changes, and it changes on its own schedule. A statute can be amended, an agency can reinterpret a definition, and a new law can take effect on a date nobody announced widely. Every guide on this site carries the date its facts were verified, precisely so you can see how old the answer is. An out-of-date page is still an out-of-date page.
The answer depends on facts only you have. Whether a license is required can turn on how you harvest, what you do to the crop afterwards, where you sell it, who you sell it to and how much you sell. A guide cannot know those things about your operation.
Only the agency can give you an answer that binds anyone. This is why every state guide names the specific desk, what it does and does not decide, and what to ask. The guides are written to get you to the right official with the right question, not to substitute for that official.
So: verify before you act. Confirm anything that affects your business with the agency named on the page, and get it in writing. If money or liability is at stake, take professional advice. Decisions made in reliance on this site are yours.
Accuracy, and what is not warranted
The content here is researched from primary sources and cited so you can check it. Even so, the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability or non-infringement.
No promise is made that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or current at the moment you read it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Microgreens Guru and its author are not liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, arising from use of or reliance on this site, including lost profits, fines, penalties or business interruption.
If a mistake is found, reporting it through the contact page is welcome and it will be corrected.
Growing, food safety and health
Guides describe growing methods and food safety practice. Growing food for sale carries real risk, including foodborne illness. Following anything described here does not transfer that risk, and you remain responsible for the safety of what you produce and sell. Nothing here is medical or nutritional advice.
Your use of the site
You may read, print and share this content for your own use, including commercial use of the knowledge in your own operation. You may not republish substantial portions as your own content, scrape the site systematically, or present its research as yours.
Do not use the site to break the law, to interfere with its operation, or to attempt access to anything not made public.
Ownership
The text, structure, research and original images on this site belong to Microgreens Guru unless stated otherwise. Statutes, regulations and agency publications quoted or linked belong to the bodies that produced them, and are cited so you can read the original rather than take our summary of it.
Short quotation with attribution and a link is fine. Wholesale reproduction is not.
Links to other sites
This site links heavily to government agencies, legislatures and other outside sources, because citing them is the point. Those sites are not controlled here and are not endorsed by linking to them, and their content and availability can change without notice. Some links are affiliate links, described in the affiliate disclaimer.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change, and the date at the top will change with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.
